Rates / Terms

Diagnosis Fee (£20 - £30)

The diagnostic fee involves the initial investigations / fault-finding. After we find the root of the problem, we will contact you to discuss the repair in case it exceeds the initial estimated cost.

Sometimes, diagnosis can reveal further faults / parts that need replacing. If, upon discussing this you decide that it is uneconomical to proceed with the repair, the diagnosis fee will still apply.

Hourly Rate (£40)

The hourly rate applies if you decide to proceed with the repairs after diagnosis. This involves all the work that's done to fix your device such as cleaning, soldering, measuring, etc. We usually try to give an estimate for the whole repair when we receive each device, but that's not always possible. As mentioned before, if the repair cost exceeds the initially estimated price we will contact you about it in advance.

Any parts that need replacing (i.e. capacitors, resistors, potentiometers, etc.) are added on top of the hourly rate. We always aim to buy high-quality and cost-effective components.

Warranty

After each completed repair we give out a "Repair Completion and Warranty Form" which mentions all the work that was done on your device and the time period over which the repair is covered by warranty. This is usually a 30-day period, which might not seem like a lot, but in 99% of cases if nothing goes wrong within that period then it won't for a long time.

Please note that warranty only covers the work we did on the device. If a completely different part of it fails (i.e. speaker blown but repair involved valve replacement) then warranty will not cover it.

If there's a problem with any of the work we did (even if out of warranty) please just contact us at earliest opportunity and we will sort something out. Communication is key and we want all our customers to be satisfied.
